Axl

I am a black cat.  I showed up across the street one day during March of 2006 and the neighbors took me in.  She helped with animal rescue and liked me, so I was allowed to stay in her garage. I was a homely soul, with hunger pains and a need for dry shelter. Unfortunately, my dander made her husband's allergies go nuts and their dogs nearly took down the door to the garage to get me!  I was not going to be able to stay there, but they were nice people.  Very nice. And that lead to my safekeeping.

The family advertised in the neighborhood to try and find me a permanent loving home.

A teenager in the neighborhood came and picked me up.  He said I was his cat.  He had a black cat that had been missing.  I went home with him and sat on the couch and ate some good food and watched  few flicks on tv, and then the boy said, "hey, you're not my cat." I don't know what told him otherwise, but I suppose he didn't know his own cat REALLY well, and so, back to the garage I went. It was nice while it lasted!

A lady across the street also liked animals - she works with Nittany Beagle Rescue and has rescued a lot of beagles that live with her as pets. She had never had a cat live with her before.  I few months before she had a dream about a cat living with her.  She  was open minded and came to see me.  She had always been very allergic to cats. I liked her and she liked me, so I got to go live with her.  For some reason, she was not allergic to me!  That was her sign that I was the one!  I was very sickly, greasy, and had well, loose stools, so I wasn't the nicest smelling or cleanest cat you've ever seen.  She took me to the vet and bought me a few things like a little house with a heated bed, and some toys.  I lived with her at her office for a year.  She took me home on the weekends (I love riding in cars and I also walk on a leash!).

Anyway, one long holiday, when I was at home for more than a week, I really started to settle in.  The big guy at the house who was a "no cat" person started to really like me.  I am cuddly, talky, and affectionate.  Everyone says I am the "bestest" cat ever!  Well, I won his heart.  He said to my girl, "Axl told me that he wants to stay here at the house from now on."  So, I never returned to the office.

Here at the house, I am free to go where ever I wish, except outside.  I have all my claws still and I do not tear things up.  Sometimes I go on outings outside when I am wearing my halter and leash. I love to watch the birds on the deck through the sliding glass door or through the front storm door.  I hear my people say, "Kit-kittius is watching his movies, again!" We all have lots of nicknames around here.  Sometimes I am "Kits," sometimes I am "Kit-kittius," and occasionally I am "Axl." Originally, I was called "Boo-Kitty" when I first came here, but that name didn't stick.

I am brave and fun!  I even like the beagles and try to go down to beagle-land to play with them all.  I get discouraged by my people though, who fear that I will be 1 to 20 and lose any chase or tussle that may occur.  So, they keep me out of beagle-land and I get to watch the beagles from a perch on a dutch door.  None of the beagles seem to care that I watch them, except for Rocket, and I like stirring Rocket up! At the vet's office, they call me a puppy-cat, because I walk on a leash and because everyone things I really want to be a dog instead of a cat.
